Laparoscopic simple nephrectomy in Non functional kidney

It can be undertaken in patients with benign conditions such as non functional kidney due to renal or ureteric stone, pelvi-uretetic junction obstruction, pyonephrosis, ureteric stricture, vesico-ureteric reflux etc. When nephrectomy is done in cancer patients, it is called radical nephrectomy.
